The kārearea's connection to New Zealand's landscapes and rich biodiversity resonates deeply with us & our customers. By incorporating the endemic NZ falcon into our icon and company, we contribute to the resilience and sustainability of this remarkable species, which is especially important given that only 5,000–8,000 kārearea remain today.
WILDhue is proud be a ‘FALCON HERO’ supporting the Kārearea Falcon Trust! This involves a commitment from us to donate $1 for every $100 spent at WILDhue. We donate quarterly off our total sales, giving back to nature and helping to rehabilitate and grow a New Zealand icon (as featured on our $20 note).
The Kārearea Falcon Trust was founded in 2008 by a small group of visionaries to secure the future of the kārearea falcon in Aotearoa. Today, their dedicated team works tirelessly on rescue, rehabilitation, restoration, and release efforts to revive the kārearea falcon population.

Our adopted Kārearea
Rocky has called the Kārearea Falcon Trust in Marlborough home since 2013. In 2024, he became a beloved addition to our WILDhue family! Rocky is a handsome chap, and what he lacks in soaring (amputated right wing) he makes up in charm by wooing his breeding partner Maia. Supporting Rocky and the rehabilitation and restoration of kārearea throughout New Zealand is WILDhue's passion and we would like to see kārearea thrive and soar in our skies once more.
